Greece is one heck of an innovation core…
Just a few days after the visit of Bill Gates and the speech he gave at the Athens Concert Hall on Innovation and Entrepreneurship the European Commission presented in Brussels an Innovation comparison of the State Members of the EU…
Surprise surprise, Greek politicians and policy makers must be really proud of themselves and of their efforts since Greece managed to score the 29th place among the 37 regions that were in the report. Sarcastically enough the report shows the convergence of the regions while in the case of Greece (along with Croatia) the indicator reveals divergence :0
Beside the 27 Member States of the EU the following Countries were included in the report· In specific, Turkey, Croatia, Island, Norway, Switzerland, Israel, Japan, Australia, Canada and the USA. The report reveals the level of utilisation of the products of science and technology and the top three countries are Sweden, Switzerland and Finland. Pretty outstanding thinking of the competition.
Greece on the other hand is really far behind and despite the three Regional Support Programmes nothing has been achieved as it is revealed by the indicator. Even though the potential may be here, which is the human factor, the local conditions in the political and business level are premature. Taking this into account, why should anyone invest his time and future in Greece when he can find a better environment to pursue his science and entrepreneurial ambitions.
Finally, one big thanks to Greece for really revealing how shitty place we are.
Please do not think I hate Greece, it is just that I am sick of seeing national funds being given free of guilt to various organisations that simple declare Not-for-profit. Keep in mind that it is just a small fractions of financing that it is spend badly.

just perfect!!!!
